The Bold and Bald: Black Men Redefining Style with the Yatta Shaving System for Bald Heads. By:Mjayi

I was first introduced to the concept of being bald, back in the day, when you wouldn't dare be caught shaving your head bald.

Because one of the first things that slave traders did to slaves once they were captured was shave their heads.

Black hair has always been and will always be a source of strong spiritual and cultural importance when it comes to hair within the Black community.

Shaving ones head for women and men captured in slavery was dehumanizing act intended to strip away their connection to our Black culture.

So you can see why shaving one's head back in the day, was not something celebrated.

You would become the laughing stock of the neighborhood. But back in the day their was one person, who made having a bald head, look good, look sexy, and look cool, that was Mr. Isaac Hayes also better know as Black Moses.

But way before Isaac Hayes, there was Jack Johnson the first heavyweight boxing Champaign of the world, rocked a bald head, in the 1908 with pride dignity and grace, but their wasn't many photos available of him back in the day. If you ever get a chance look up the history of Jack Johnson and his style, back in the day at the turn of the century.

Fast forward to the 80's and two great Black men appeared on the scene rocking bald heads. Marvelous Marvin Hagler and Lou Gossip Jr. rock the bald head making it look cool, sexy, prideful, and stylish without feeling shameful for Black Men.

In recent years, there's been a seismic shift in the world of men's grooming. Black Men, known for setting trends and redefining style standards, are at the forefront of this movement, embracing the sleek, clean look of a bald head. Gone are the days when hair loss was a source of insecurity; today, going bald is not just a necessity but a style statement.
